Nepal America Ekata Samaj's General Assembly has been postponed until further notice
Working committee of Nepal America Ekata Samaj has decided to postpone general assembly (original scheduled for April 15) in an emergency meeting held on April 14, 2012. The general assembly will be held at a later date. The date/time will be made available at this site.

Nepal America Ekata Samaj's general assembly will be held on April 15, 2012 at Haveli Cousine of India (17221 Pioneer Blvd Artesia, CA 90701) at 7:30 pm. All Ekata Samaj members are invited to this assembly.
This is an opportunity to learn about past accomplishments and future plans as well as elect a new working committee.
We'll also be celebrating Nepali New Year 2069. Suggested registration is $10/person.
Anyone interested in becoming a part of the working committee can fill out the candidacy application and run for the post.
The form must be submitted to Bishnu Paudel, 18015 Devlin Ave, Artesia, CA 90701 by April 13, 2012 by 2pm. The submitted application can be withdrawn by April 14, 2012 by 2 pm.
The members who joined Ekata Samaj before April 10, 2012 are eligible to vote in the general election.

Help Bir Bahadur Pun's Family
Bir Bahadur Pun, who had been suffering from cancer for last couple of years has died on March 17, 2012. Bir Bahadur was 38 years old and had been living in the United States since 2006. This incident has left all of us shocked and heartbroken. Bir Bhadur is survived by his wife and a five year old son who came to the US about a month ago.

2010 CNN Hero Anuradha Koirala's visit

Nepal America Ekata Samaj in collaboration with Friends of Nepal, Pashupatinath Foundation, and America-Nepal Society is proud to have 2010 CNN hero Anuradha Koirala. She is a social activist and the founder and director of Maiti Nepal, an organization dedicated to helping victims of sex trafficking in Nepal. Maiti Nepal has been a refuge for women rescued from the brothels in India. The women can stay in the homes run by Maiti Nepal until they are able to return to their homes or if not accepted by their parents they may stay until they become able to live on their own. Her organization has helped more than 12000 victims.

This event took place in India Cafe/Kabeli Grill, Cerritos, California on November 24. Anuradha Koirala was honored by a certificate of appreciation for all of her dedication and effort. Also, given in this event was $1001.00 donation to Maiti Nepal. This donation was collected among the attendees of this event. This donation will be used to buy winter clothing for rescued women in Nepal.
